You bought, we gifted
When we launched our handmade crochet toys, we promised that for every one bought by a customer, we would give a toy to a Syrian or Palestinian refugee child whose parents could not afford to buy them one. Here’s a peek at what we did.
Thanks to everyone who bought our handmade crochet toys in the run up to Christmas 2024, we were able to give toys to 119 children early in 2025. Between teddies, footballs and craft supplies, there was something for everyone.
A huge thank you to everyone who enabled this.
Alongside the toys distribution, our parent charity Makani ran workshops for mums on mental health and positive parenting. This was in the aftermath of the bombardment of Lebanon, which left parents and children alike traumatised and struggling.
One mother who took part was Ida, who says:
“We learnt how to deal with our children in these difficult times. I learnt how to understand them and give them space to express themselves and to tell me what they need without fear. I have been implementing what I learnt in the workshop and I have noticed a huge improvement. My children come to me every day after school and tell me everything that they did and learnt. They have become my friends and I feel our domestic life in general has improved so much. My children have more energy and more love for learning.”
