Sunbula hand-embroidered bag: green

£85.00

The Sunbula bag is based on the shapes of traditional Levantine embroidery tree motifs, reimagined into a portable design that can travel the town with you. The design is painstakingly hand-stitched by the Syrian refugee women we work with. Each stitch represents the community, confidence and pride that they find in this work. In the words of artisan Fatima, “I feel I am flying high as I am earning my living and being independent. It helps me pay rent and get food for my children, as well as be creative and feel a sense of achievement."
