LEBANON CRISIS
We are fundraising on the website of our parent charity MakaniYet again, we are under bombardment in Lebanon.
Nearly all the women Oshana works with live in the areas under heaviest attack: the suburbs and refugee camps of southern Beirut. As shelling intensifies at night, families flee their homes and sleep on the seafront or the streets in safer neighbourhoods, as they have nowhere else to go.
These are families who have already been displaced multiple times. They are frightened, exhausted and running out of options.
Thankfully, no one in our community has been injured so far. But urgent needs are growing: clean water, warm meals, medicines and basic essentials for children.
Our coordinator shares:
"My dear, the situation is truly tragic. The bombardment seems even worse than last time. I truly hope peace will prevail; the situation here is very painful. Women and children asleep in cars and on the street."
Makani has worked with hundreds of Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese families over the past year. We are embedded in the community and in close contact with families in huge need.
We are raising funds now to respond to urgent needs during this crisis — and to stand alongside women for the long term, providing psychosocial support and economic empowerment long after Lebanon has left the headlines.
Your support today will help us deliver immediate relief and sustained care to women and families living through trauma after trauma.
£10 Could buy clean water for a family
£25 Could buy hot food for a family
£50 Could buy blankets and mattresses to keep a family warm sleeping out
£100 Could buy sanitary supplies, medicines and medical treatment
Buying a handmade piece from Oshana is also a direct way to support at this time, and funds reach the women just as quickly.
