Salam Cushion — Hand-Embroidered Heritage Red & Orange

£120.00

Named Salam— the Arabic word for peace— this intricately embroidered red-and-orange cushion embodies our shared hopes for peace and renewal. Its design is inspired by the chest panel of a traditional Palestinian thobe, a long, loose dress worn throughout the region.

Across the top third, a row of stylised cypress leaves symbolises resilience and the continuity of life — the “tree of life” motif common in Palestinian embroidery. Above them, vibrant flowers bloom alongside birds in flight, evoking beauty, growth, freedom, and the human spirit’s enduring hope.

Just as the original embroiderer stitched her love, care, and dreams into her dress, our artisans have done the same. Each stitch carries intention — peace, remembrance, and connection — transforming heritage into a message for today.

The Salam cushion brings warmth, artistry, and meaning into your home: a celebration of craft, identity, and the longing for peace woven through generations.
