Sihr - the Arabic word for magic - seemed to suit this delicate design where the embroidery appears like a charm woven into the fabric, like enchanted symbols appearing from a haze. Maybe that seems a bit over the top - but that was where the name came from!
The design was inspired by an ancient Mamluk embroidered remnant found in Egypt.
Like everything we make, this cushion was hand-embroidered by refugee women in Lebanon, who gain a dignified income and a supportive community from this work.
Materials: 100% hand embroidered cotton on heavy 100% linen with cotton pipping
Dimensions: 50cm x 40cm
